The Center for Natural Resources (CNR) at the New Jersey Institute of Technology met with officials from Paterson OEM and NJ OEM to visit flood-prone locations and discuss mitigation strategies supported through the REACH (Resilience Excellence and Capacity Hub) program.
The visit included a review of recent flooding impacts, stormwater conditions, and priority areas for resilience investment.
Discussion focused on potential flood mitigation options near St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and other vulnerable sites in Paterson.
The collaboration between Paterson, NJ OEM, and CNR is part of an ongoing statewide effort to help New Jersey communities prepare for and respond to flooding through data-driven planning and technical support.
